In my opinion Dr. Hyde is ok as a teacher. I think it was not ok to throw Miles out of the room, when he looks out of the window. This reaction was overdone, because everyone looks out of the window in some lessons for a view minutes. Thats ok. That has nothing to do with the fact that the lessons are boring or so... Maybe he is a dreamer and a thinker and some students can think better if they look out of the window.
The reaction after seeing Takumi and Alaska smoking and seeing Miles and Colonel beeing there with boths was ok. It is not allowed to smoke. It is a shool rool not to smoke and so it was ok to gave them a punish. Smoking is dangerous and if somone break a rule, it is ok to punish them. I can´t find out more appearances where Dr. Hyde occurs in the book. So I don´t really know what kind of teacher Dr. Hyde is, but he is strickt and that´s absolutely ok. I would only say that he exaggerates sometimes in specific situations.

On one hand, I think Dr Hyde is okay, because he just does his job. He prepares class and is dissapointed if there are pupils who don't listen when he tries to teach them. Also I abet you in your opinion, that it's okay to punish them when they break the rules because if breaking rules wouldn't have consequences everyone would do what he or she likes to.
AntwortenLöschenAnyway it was exaggerated from Dr Hyde to kick Miles out of class just because he was looking out of the window, I mean he had been a youngster, too. So I guess he should understand that you can't listen all the time.
So all in all I absolutly share your opinion.
